Edinburgh Napier University: Centre for Social Informatics

Today I went to Edinburgh Napier University's Centre for Social Informatics!

The Centre for Social Informatics specializes in research regarding "socio-technical interaction at different levels of organisation, and at different stages in the system life cycle." In particular, we spoke to researchers studying reputation management in a digital world. We saw their working lab, including the technology they use to track eye movement on a computer screen.

During our visit, we were fortunate to speak directly with several faculty members and PhD students. I am interested in traditional librarianship, so I have very little experience with social informatics or analytics. It was very interesting to speak to researchers from the other side of our profession!
